Tina was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and studied packaging design for her masters at the Pratt Institute in NYC. Now a she is graphic designer on our team at Kworq who enjoys the process of design and using storytelling to deliver eye-catching and detail-oriented results.

How long have you worked for Kworq?

Three months.

Where were you photographed? Why was that your choice?

I took the photo at Canal Street Market with my beloved boba tea. This is my secret lunch place everyday.

Why did you want to work at Kworq?

Kworq has a group of creative, talkative and cool people. Nothing is better than working with people that you like.

Why did you get into Advertising?

Advertising is all about conversations between people. It is really interesting to see how advertising transfers those conversations into posters, videos and ads. As a graphic designer, advertising is a way to tell the stories to the public by design.

What is your favorite part about working in advertising?

People working in the advertising industry need to brainstorm everyday. And I love an a-ha moment which makes me feel alive.

What is your least favorite part about working in advertising?

Nope……nothing so far.

What’s the hardest part about what you do?

Advertising contains different platforms, ex: websites, motion, coding, branding, apps. It is so hard to be the expert of everything but I am trying to be that kind of person.

Where do you want to be in five years?

I wanna have my own design studio which is focusing on the hospitality industry because food and design are my top two favorite things in my life.

What’s your greatest inspiration for what you do (design, writing, etc.)

I love browsing on Pinterest without purpose. I call this time “eye massage” which is really helpful for me to absorb cool and fun ideas. Besides, Pinterest is always the best way to escape from the ugly subway ads when they are stuck on the 7 or G train.

What was the last thing you watched that you really liked? Why?

COCO, This is the movie about family, family and family. Please bring a box of tissues when you watch COCO, especially for people who live far away from family.

How do you keep the creative juices flowing outside of Kworq?

I love drawing and posting photos on social media. Posting photos on Instagram is a daily layout test for me. As an OCD person, I am obsessed with cropping photos 10 times before sharing. It is so fun for me.
